over there at the end of the block was a memory
i used to have when i was younger
there was candy canes and cotton candy and bubble tea
coconut cookies and almond floats
you were there, too
at the bottom of the slide
to catch me when i went down headfirst
i knew that was against the rules
but you let me do it anyway
now i go feet first
and make sure there are lots of pillows at the bottom
Waiting for the bus…
Dreaming of the islands
So far away although there
Are so many of us here
We came here to find opportunity
And peace and freedom
Yet with all these rules and social networks
And rat races every which way
With everyone having to go somewhere
It’s during these times that I wait
Truly wait
And I realize that I left something good
And that I will spend the rest of my
Life trying to get back to where I’m from
After spending my whole life trying to get here
Check it before we wreck it
Each one of us
Shares a thought
A feeling
Even a handshake
We sit next to each other
Wondering if the other had a milkshake
Chocolate or vanilla or strawberry deluxe?
A mix maybe
That brings us all back to childhood
When we could do anything and
Dream anything
Now that we aren’t little
We seem now more incapable
Less adventerous
The world to us is a room
With four corners, a computer, and
Some pencils that are half sharpened
The blondehaired subway tigress can often be spotted on the rush hour trains, standing near a door, even if there happened to be seats. This was a technique to make her appear taller to the numerous predators that scour the subway. That the photographer could get so close to the tigress was more dangerous than he first thought. This tigress was a far east Siberian tigress, which meant she had an ample supply of poison darts hidden in her sweat glands that could kill a man in twenty three seconds.
